Psalms 34:15, 17
(14) The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
(17) The righteous cry and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
What is a cry? Webster has defined cry as “a loud inarticulate shout or scream expressing a powerful feeling or emotion” (noun). Or “shout or scream, typically to express fear, pain, or grief. (Cried) (Verb) or shed tears, typically as an expression of distress, pain, or sorrow.
It is time for the righteous to cry, not in grief or sorrow, but in pain for the lost and the injustices of our day. Our souls are in pain as a woman who travails to bring forth a child. We must travail in pain and agony for the souls of our children, family, friends and neighbors who don’t know the Lord. We are witnesses of the terrible things that are happening in our world, and it is time to stop being silent. Cry out for the souls, cry out for the lost, cry out for justice and truth to prevail. Cry out against sin, cry out against oppression, depression, suppression and every act of unrighteousness that permeates our world.
The Bible says, Luke 21:25 – 28 “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
DO NOT BE AFRAID OR FEARFUL. GOD IS ON OUR SIDE. Psalms. 83:1 “Keep not thou silence, O God; hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.” GOD IS WATCHING AND LISTENING. Psalms 121:1-8, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep”. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD…CRY OUT!
Jesus told us in Isaiah 58:1 to “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.” It is time to lift up our voices. Lift up your voice against sin, injustices, racism, prejudices and outright lawlessness. Lift your voice to your family, friends, and neighbors. Lift your voice via your social media channels, written communique, word of mouth, ballot box, and whatever other avenue is available to you.
Cry out, tell the truth, live the life you sing and preach about. Live holy, love unconditionally, and treat people the way you want to be treated. LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD…CRY OUT
ISAIAH 40:1 -8 “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. The voice said, Cry. And he said, what shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: “
ISAIAH 40: 28-31 “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
YOU HAVE A VOICE WITH GOD AND YOU HAVE A VOICE WITH MAN. USE YOUR VOICE…CRY OUT
THINGS HAPPEN WHEN THE RIGHTEOUS CRY… LUKE 81:7, 8 “And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bears long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.
When the righteous cry, changes take place. When the righteous cry, chains are broken. When the righteous cry, the bound are loosed and yokes are destroyed. When the righteous cry deliverance comes. Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”
USE SOCIAL MEDIA, ZOOM, INSTAGRAM, TIKTOK AND WHATEVER DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY YOU HAVE TO LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD. CRY ALOUD…PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST. LET THE RIGHTEOUS CRY!
